Description

AL-KO MAMMUT manoeuvring system

With the multi-award-winning, fully automatic AL-KO MAMMUT manoeuvring system, you can move and control your caravan or trailer effortlessly, even on your own. The tightest spaces and obstacles up to four centimetres high pose no problem, nor do gradients of up to 28 percent.

The MAMMUT electric manoeuvring aid offers infinitely variable acceleration. Your electronic controls are perfectly integrated in the robust aluminium drive, which protects them against damage and moisture (IP65). The optimised housing has further improved heat dissipation in comparison to the previous model. Longer manoeuvres are therefore possible even at high temperatures and loads, thanks to the extended power-on time.

Manoeuvring with caravan accessories from AL-KO

At AL-KO you will find an extensive range to improve the manoeuvrability of your caravan. Even the entry-level model RANGER,  for example, enables the caravan to be moved with millimetre precision and very little effort.

Jockey wheels prove useful on soft ground, which in combination with the AL-KO manoeuvring handles form the perfect team.

FAQ

Most AL-KO chassis from model year 2010 or later come with a special hole designed to house the AMS MAMMUT.
We recommend gel or AGM batteries with suitable charging technology and a minimum capacity of 80 Ah. An AGM battery of at least 100 Ah is ideal for providing additional reserves for applications such as lighting or water supply. For spiral cell AGM batteries, such as Optima, the capacity should be at least 66 Ah.
Unfortunately not. This would void the general operating license. However, in many cases you can use the “bottom installation” variant.
Installing it in front of the axle gives the MAMMUT manoeuvring aid better protection from stones and spray water. Installation behind the axle is also possible.
We recommend that you remove the battery from the vehicle and then proceed as follows:
  • Store the battery fully charged.
  • Choose a cool, dry storage location.
  • Recharge the battery for 24 hours every 2 months.
  • In principle it can be installed in almost any caravan chassis. You can find a detailed overview in the variant comparison.
Although it is possible to install the MAMMUT yourself using the enclosed instructions, we recommend having it installed by a specialist company in your area.
AL-KO service centres are available throughout Europe.
Yes, with a spanner (13 mm) or a standard screwdriver depending on the model version.
NB: Remove fuses and do not use electric screwdrivers such as cordless screwdrivers!
No, this is not necessary thanks to the enclosed general operating permit.
